Il Grande Cambiamento

Giovanna e Gioia sedevano sull'erba, e guardavano intensamente il vaso di vetro. La farfalla potrebbe rompere in qualsiasi momento il bozzolo, e uscire completamente fuori. Era passato tanto tempo da quando presero il bruco e lo misero nel vaso, se ne erano presi particolarmente cura e ora guardavano come si era rivestita dal bozzolo. Adesso finalmente era tempo per il bruco di emergere con il suo nuovo set di ali.
Come era eccitante guardare il bozzolo fendersi e aprirsi e vedere la farfalla cominciare la sua lotta per la nuova vita! Qualche volta si dimenava e dondolava lavorando per liberarsi, altre volte rimaneva immobile come per raccogliere le forze per tentare di nuovo.
POI ACCADDE! Loro potevano vedere ambedue le ali della bella farfalla quando si lasciò cadere completamente fuori del bozzolo. CHE GRANDE CAMBIAMENTO dal bruco riccio che era stato messo così tanto tempo fa nel vaso!
Saulo era un uomo cattivo a cui non piacevano i cristiani. Lui gridava e strillava loro facendo pesanti minacce. Li colpiva e qualche volta li uccise anche. Saulo non era certamente un uomo del quale qualcuno vorrebbe diventare amico.
In questo particolare giorno Saulo stava viaggiando verso la città di Damasco. Egli voleva che i capi della città gli dessero il permesso per perseguitare i cristiani. mentre lui e i suoi amici stavano percorrendo la strada polverosa, discutendo quello che dovevano dire ai capi e vantandosi di come sarebbero stati felici di ricevere il permesso per perseguitare i cristiani …
IMPROVVISAMENTE …
…dal cielo, venne la luce più brillante che Saulo avesse mai visto. La luce lo circondò, egli tentò di coprire gli occhi per proteggersi dalla luce, ma era così brillante che faceva male agli occhi.
Si buttò a terra tentando di evitarla poi sentì una voce, diversa da qualsiasi voce che lui mai aveva sentito, e diceva “SAULO! SAULO! Perché vuoi perseguitarmi?”
Saulo, non riconoscendo la voce, disse “Chi sei tu?”
La risposta fu, “Sono Gesù.”
Evidentemente, Saulo aveva molta paura era agitato e stava tremando e poteva parlare appena. Egli disse con una voce sottile, “Signore, che devo fare?”
Gesù rispose, “Vai nella città, qualcuno ti verrà incontro e ti dirà che fare.”
Gli amici che erano con lui furono stupiti! Non videro la luce, loro non videro nessuna persona, sentirono solamente la voce, non avevano idea di quello che stava accadendo!
Quando Saulo poté rialzarsi da terra, scoprì i suoi occhi, ma non poteva vedere niente. I suoi amici lo tenevano per mano per condurlo nella città di Damasco, la luce, così brillante, l'aveva accecato. e non poté vedere niente per tre giorni interi.
Mentre tutto di questo stava accadendo fuori sulla strada per la città di Damasco, qualcos'altro stava accadendo nella città.
I cristiani erano spaventati perché avevano sentito dire qualcosa riguardo alle abitudini di Saulo, loro sapevano che lui era un uomo crudele che non li amava, sapevano che aveva fatto cose terribili agli altri cristiani ed erano piuttosto preoccupati.
C'era un uomo cristiano chiamato Anania che amava moltissimo il Signore. Dio gli parlò in una visione, dicendogli di andare giù per la strada ad incontrare Saulo. Ora, Anania aveva sentito tutte le storie circa Saulo e lui non era molto contento di questo piano. Anania parlò a Dio: “Che succede se lui mi fa del male? Che succede se lui mi vuole uccidere? Sei sicuro di questo, Signore?” Sono sicuro che noi tutti comprendiamo l'esitazione di Anania per andare fuori a incontrare Saulo!
Dio parlò di nuovo ad Anania, riassicurandolo che tutto starebbe andato bene. Anania trovò la casa dove Saulo era ospitato e andò li per una visita. Mentre era là, lui pregò per Saulo e la cecità lo lasciò. Dio lo guarì così lui poté vedere di nuovo.
Saulo rimase a Damasco coi cristiani, divennero buoni amici e lui imparò da loro. Non passò molto tempo che Saulo divenne un predicatore che insegnava alle persone circa Gesù. Ognuno fu stupito! Non potevano credere che quella era la stessa persona che li aveva odiati così tanto e che voleva ucciderli.
CHE MERAVIGLIOSO CAMBIAMENTO!
PENSA!
1. Gesù si cura forse solo delle persone buone?
2. Quale è stato il GRANDE CAMBIAMENTO che avvenne in Saulo?
3. Può cambiare chiunque o solo le brave persone?
UN VERSETTO DA IMPARARE
“…se un uomo è in Cristo, egli è una creatura nuova…” (2 Corinzi 5:17a).
RICORDA
Anche se le persone sono cattive, Dio le ama ancora e può aiutarle a cambiare.

amare gli altri anche quando sono cattivi e a
ricordarci che Tu puoi cambiare chiunque.
