La storia della tentazione di Gesù nel desert

da un gruppo di sette volontari.)
“Ti prendo!” minacciava allegramente Nina, mentre rincorreva la sua sorellina attorno al sofè.
Susanna rideva mentre scappava.
Di solito il sole splendeva caldo e luminoso, ma gli ultimi giorni estivi erano stati decisamente brutti. Le bambine avevano giocato con alcuni giochi da tavolo, avevano colorato e letto delle storie. La mamma le aveva aiutate a fare dei biscotti.
Oggi stava ancora piovendo e la mamma era dovuta andare dal dottore, perciò sarebbe stata con loro la signora Marti. Non era divertente come con la mamma stare con la babysitter, per cui le bambine giocavano fra di loro.
Correvano attorno al sofà. Era così divertente...finché Susanna urtò il tavolo e il piatto con i dolci cadde sul pavimento, frantumandosi.
“Cosa sta succedendo lì, bambine?” domandò la signora Marti dalla cucin.
“Niente!” gridarono insieme le bambine.
“Nascondiamo i cocci nella pattumiera,” suggerì Susanna.
“Ma la mamma si accorgerà che il piatto non è qui,” replicò la sorella. “Penso che dovremmo dirle cos'è successo.”
“Potremmo dirle che la signora Marti ha urtato il tavolo e l'ha rotto!” Susanna sussurrò.
“No, Susanna,” Nina disse con un sorriso, abbracciando la sua sorellina. “Non dobbiamo mentire alla mamma sul piatto. Non si arrabbierà se le diremo la verità.”
In quell'istante, la porta dell'ingresso si aprì e la mamma entrò nel soggiorno.
“Oh, cielo! Cos'è successo qui?” domandò.
Giovanni il Battista aveva appena battezzato suo cugino Gesù nel fiume Giordano. Dio, il Padre, era così compiaciuto che,
Gli disse,
direttamente dal cielo,
con una voce così forte che,
tutti coloro che erano attorno poterono udire:
“QUESTO È IL MIO AMATO FIGLIO, NEL QUALE MI SONO COMPIACIUTO.”
La Bibbia dice che appena Gesù fu battezzato, mentre era ancora tutto bagnato ed era appena uscito dall'acqua, i cieli sopra di lui si aprirono e accadde una cosa meravigliosa.
Mentre Gesù guardava, vide lo Spirito Santo di Dio scendere dal cielo. In verità, lo Spirito Santo si posò su di Lui nella stupenda forma di una colomba.
Il sole picchiava forte nella desolazione del deserto. Gesù aveva ascoltato quando lo Spirito di Dio gli aveva parlato. Aveva marciato a lungo inoltrandosi nel territorio disabitato, lasciando alle spalle i suoi amici e la sua famiglia. Dopo alcuni giorni non vide più alcun viaggiatore. Era tutto solo nel deserto. Iniziò a pregare e ad ascoltare Dio il Padre.
Per quaranta giorni e quaranta notti non mangiò nulla. Alla fine di quel periodo si sentì molto, molto affamato. Il diavolo venne e lo tentò, dicendogli, “Se tu sei il Figlio di Dio, ordina che queste pietre si trasformino in pane.”
Avrebbe potuto Dio Padre trasformare quelle pietre in pane? Certo che avrebbe potuto… se Gesù lo avesse domandato!
Ma Egli disse, “Sta scritto: l'uomo non vivrà soltanto di pane, ma di ogni parola che proviene dalla bocca di Dio.”
* * *Il diavolo non aveva intenzione di andarsene così facilmente, per cui portò Gesù nella città santa e lo mise su di un pinnacolo del tempio. Il tempio era molto, molto alto. Potreste farvi molto male se doveste cadere dal tetto della vostra casa, vero? Be', quel tempio era molto più alto della vostra casa. Mentre si trovava sul pinnacolo, Gesù guardò in basso verso la terra sotto di Lui.
Il diavolo disse, “Ora, se tu sei davvero il Figlio di Dio, gettati giù.” Stavolta il diavolo citò un versetto della Bibbia: “Perché sta scritto: Egli darà ordini ai suoi angeli a tuo riguardo ed essi ti porteranno sulle loro mani perché tu non urti con il piede contro una pietra.”
Gesù replicò: “Sta pure scritto: non tenterai il Signore Dio tuo.” Gesù conosceva molto bene la Parola di Dio.
* * *Infine, il diavolo portò Gesù in cima ad un monte altissimo. Gli mostrò tutti i regni della terra in tutta la loro magnificenza e ricchezza.
Che vista doveva essere, quella!
Il diavolo disse a Gesù, “Ti darò tutte queste cose, se ti prostrerai a me e mi adorerai.”
Aveva il potere di farlo, in quanto egli domina su tutta la terra.
Stavolta Gesù disse a Satana, “Vattene, diavolo! Perché sta scritto: adora il Signore Dio tuo e a Lui solo rendi il tuo culto.”
A questo punto il diavolo lasciò Gesù, il quale subito dopo ebbe la confortante visione di angeli che venivano a Lui per portargli sostegno e cura.
PENSA!
1. Qualcosa di meraviglioso accadde il giorno in cui Gesù fu battezzato. Cosa?
2. Dove si diresse, in seguito, Gesù?
3. Quanto tempo rimase Gesù a digiuno senza toccare cibo?
4. Quanto volte Satana tentò Gesù?
5. Gesù rispose al diavolo nello stesso modo tre volte. Cosa gli disse?
6. Ricordi una circostanza in cui sei stato tentato?
7. Che cosa hai fatto?
8. Che cosa avresti dovuto fare?
9. Chi può aiutarti quando sei tentato?
RICORDA
Quando ti trovi ad essere tentato, invoca l'aiuto di Gesù per superare la prova.

“...Pregate di non entrare in tentazione” (Luca 22:40).
PREGHIAMO

Amorevole Dio, Ti lodiamo per questo e per ogni giorno.
Siamo tentati molte volte a fare cose che
sappiamo non dovremmo fare. Aiutaci a resistere al fare quelle
cose che sappiamo Tu non gradisci.
Nel nome di Gesù. Amen.

GAMES
HOPSCOTCH
Use drafting tape or chalk to draw a hopscotch grid on the floor.
Tape the Bible verse words into the grids. Have students jump
through the hopscotch in order while saying the verse.
NAME THAT TUNE!
Hum or replace a song's words with “la-la” notes.
The first person to name that tune leads the class in singing it.
PUT ON A PLAY!
Cut two pieces of fabric into large rectangles.
Cut a hole in the middle to slip over the head.
Use a long piece of fabric for a tie.
Let one child play the part of the devil and one
play the part of Jesus and reenact the Bible Lesson.
The other children should be told to listen carefully
to see if they detect any mistakes, then after the
skit is over questions can be asked and a discussion
could take place.
TASTE THAT FOOD!
Have a food tasting game where kids are blindfolded
(or just close their eyes) and try different foods,
being tempted not to try them, but trade them for
the next item to try. Bananas, pickles, crackers, etc.
